“If it can be done naturally, why go for artificial means” - this is the basic premise on which ‘organic skin care’ works. Organic skin care is the most natural way of ‘skin care’. In fact, ‘organic skin care’ was probably the first one to be used by man when it first woke-up to the needs of his skin. ‘Organic skin care’ is not only friendlier to skin, but also inexpensive.
If exercised in the right way, organic skin care can prevent the occurrence of a lot of skin disorders and can help keep your skin healthy and young-looking for a much longer time.
Organic fruits and vegetables are the most popular things on organic skin care routines e.g. cucumber is very common in organic skin care routines. Turmeric, apple, papaya, ginger are others that find a wide use in organic skin care routines. These organic materials have a very refreshing and vitalizing effect on your skin. Almost every skin care book/guide has section on organic skin care (including the actions of various fruits and vegetables on skin). So choose the ones that are more suitable for your skin type and start experimenting with them until you finally select the ones that are most suitable for inclusion in your organic skin care routine. It’s important that you use fresh organic fruits/vegetables. Don’t try to utilise the rotten ones for your skin, their only place is the garbage bin.
Milk is known to posses good cleansing properties; in fact, the name of some skin care products contains the word ‘milk’ in them. A combination of milk with ground oatmeal acts as wonderful cleanser.
Ground oatmeal is especially good for oily skins and is a popular ingredient in organic skin care regimen. It is used in various combinations e.g. with egg, honey, milk and fruits, for preparation of organic facial packs.
Wheat germ is another ingredient in organic skin care procedures. It is rich in vitamin E and is known for its exfoliation as well as moisturising properties. Wheat germ, in various combinations with other organic materials, is used to prepare facial masks for normal and dry skin types. Wheat germ oil is another way in which wheat germ is used for organic skin care.
Yogurt and sour cream are other organic materials that are popular for their exfoliation and moisturising properties.
Use of organic honey is also popular in organic skin care procedures. It helps in retention of moisture and helps impart a glowing look to skin.
Rose water takes its place as a toner in organic skin care routines. Lavender water is popular too.
‘Organic skin care’ uses combinations of various organic materials that complement each other and enhance each other’s effectiveness. Moreover, these combinations are also helpful in over-riding the harmful effects (if any) of various organic materials that form them.
Organic skin care is really an art that, once perfected, can give wonderful results in a very cost effective manner.
Home remedies have proven time and time again that they are incredibly popular.

Lotions vs. skin care creams
There is no dearth of skin care creams and lotions in the market. Name an ailment, and you will find hundreds of skin care creams, lotions and other products for it. As a result of ongoing research and due to ever increasing demand, the number of skin care products seems to be on the increase.
Skin care lotions and skin care creams are the most popular forms in which these products are available, and there always seems to be a debate on which form is better?
Well, there is no definitive answer to this. It seems more like a matter of personal choice. However, greasy creams are surely less popular as compared to the non-greasy (or less greasy) ones. Since the application of skin care creams is easier, they seem to be preferred (over lotions) in cases where the skin care product is not to be removed immediately after application. So, skin care creams seem more popular as moisturisers than as cleansers or toners. For toners, lotions seem to be preferred over skin care creams. There are some skin care creams that acts as toners too, but generally the toners are available in liquid form only. For cleansing, lotions and skin care creams are equally popular; however, the tilt seems more towards lotions.
Creams are known to be most effective in keeping skin moist; hence, the most popular form of skin care creams is moisturisers. Due to the same reason, a lot of people tend to associate skin care creams with dry and sensitive skin. Though it is true to a certain extent, skin care creams are not used only for dry skin, they are also used for making products for oily skin e.g. vitamin A creams and sulphur creams that help reduce the rate of sebum production.
Skin care creams are also used for products that cater to skin disorders especially for disorders that require the application of product over a small localised area. This is again due to the fact that skin care creams are easier to apply (without wastage) on the affected area. However, in cases where skin needs to be washed using a medicine/product, lotion is a better choice. Mostly, the manufacturers too realize this fact, making it easier for you to choose between a lotion and a skin care cream
Eye-creams and anti-ageing creams are other examples where skin care cream is preferred over its lotion counterpart.
Whatever your choice be (cream or lotion), knowing how to use it effectively, is more important than anything else.

Advice On Controlling Your Acne Breakouts
Acne can have a minor form which is common during the teenage years and usually fades away with age and can be easily treated. A more severe form, called cystic acne, can be much more serious. Cystic acne can cause disfiguring dents in the skin which never go away. This article can help you to discover the type of acne you have and what treatment is advised.
If you are an acne sufferer, try not to wash your face excessively. Any more than three times daily, and you run the risk of making the problem worse. Wash your face in warm water, using a mild soap. Gently pat your skin dry. This will prevent the acne-causing bacteria from spreading, lessening future breakouts.
Try not to touch your face as much. Your hands contain oils and your fingers, especially. Extra oil can clog pores on your face and cause pimples. Touching your face might not cause acne, but it can definitely exacerbate it. Try to break any habits that involve resting your head against your hand.
An effective way to cure acne is by taking the supplement Zinc. You should take the appropriate amount daily for best results. It helps to clear up your skin and keep you looking your best. The best dosage is 25 or 50 milligrams, taken three times throughout the day.
To get rid of acne, try not to have anything brush against your face repeatedly. Perhaps your hair cut causes your hair to touch your face and render it greasy. Avoid wearing scarves or hats, too. Do your best to keep your hands away from your face, especially if your hands are dirty.
When it comes to acne, you are the best person in the world to know how your skin behaves. If your skin feels like it is getting oily, you should wash it immediately. If you feel it is becoming too dry, grab a moisturizer and massage gently on your face.
To prevent acne, avoid touching your face with your hands during the day. Hands are rarely sterile so every time you touch your face with them you are transferring dirt and bacteria onto your skin. This dirt can then block pores and the bacteria can infect the clogged pores causing acne outbreaks.
A simple and relatively inexpensive home remedy for acne can be found in baking soda. Baking soda acts as a natural exfoliant by helping to remove dead skin cells. It also cleans and unclogs pores. To use, simply create a paste by combining a little water and baking soda, and wash away after 15 minutes.
One widely known skin care treatment for acne is Aloe Vera. Aloe Vera comes from the innards of the aloe vera plant. The gel like substance contains many amino acids and vitamins that are beneficial to skin repair, such as Vitamin E. Simply apply to the skin after regular cleansing and watch the results.
As revealed previously, acne can cause severely disfiguring pits in the skin. In the active phase the skin will have blemishes which can be large and have an angry red color. By following the steps outlined in this article, it can usually be treated and cleared up, although doctor's assistance is recommended in more severe cases.

Cleaning Your Face
You'd think that we would all know how to clean our face;
after all we do it every day.
During the course of our daily routines we get a build up
of many different impurities on our face that can clog the pores and give us a
washed out complexion.
These impurities come from grime, makeup, sunscreen,
excess sebum and many other sources.
Some of these are a result of the area we live in and
others are a result of the way we live.
Many of us touch our face throughout the day and many
impurities that are on our hands get transferred to our face each time we touch
it.
We can be in the habit of leaning on our chin at the
office or even touching between our eyebrows with the end of a finger as we
adjust our sunglasses.
All these actions can lead to a build up of dirt that can
block our pores. For these reasons it is important that we cleanse our skin,
and washing it at least twice a day is essential to keep the skin clean and
healthy and allow it to breathe.
You will need to get a skin cleanser that suits your
skin, as some of them can be too harsh for people with sensitive skin. It is best to test samples of skin cleansers after
checking that you have selected a cleanser that is appropriate for your skin
type.
Look at the label of the cleanser and see whether it is
recommended for sensitive skin or if it is more suitable for oilier skin types.
Sensitive skin is often drier and a cleanser for oily
skin will be too harsh and could cause a reaction.
By using a suitable cleanser each night you will be
washing the impurities that have built up during the day from your pores. This
will allow you to sleep with a clean pillow in the night and not allow built up
grime to create more problems for your skin.

Chemical Bleaching Creams vs. Natural Skin Whitening Recipes
There has been a time when products made
up in laboratories were considered to be the best products on the market. This
was mainly because a large share of population believed that those products
represent the highest standard that a product could reach. However, time has
proved that products made in laboratories are not faultless and that in many
case the chemical substances used for their preparation were doing more harm
than actually helping people. Thus, a large share of people has turned their
faces towards nature and natural ingredients in the hope of finding an
alternative to chemical products.
Skin whitening is one of those fields
which enjoy these two alternatives: chemical bleaching creams and natural skin
whitening recipes. But which of these solutions is best for the skin? Let’s
make a simple comparison of the two types of skin whitening treatments! Once
you have some information about each of them you will be able to answer the
above question all by yourselves.
The first thing that comes to every
person’s mind when thinking about choosing one or the other product is its
effectiveness. Everyone wants to choose that alternative which will get them
rid of black spots and darkened skin forever. Here probably both types of
treatments are equally good as this is what they have been created for.
Sometimes, there are cases in which the combination of natural ingredients has
the same active substance as the chemical cream.
Second on the list of features a skin
whitening product should have is safety. Unfortunately here there are some
products which do not respect this feature. Chemical bleaching products have
been reported to have side effects on different types of people. Most affected
are pregnant women and people with sensitive skin. Because most of the
ingredients are obtained in the laboratory, they can have quite a damaging
effect on the human skin.
The risk of allergies is even bigger as there are few people who have been testing these substances before. In case of the natural, homemade products, the risk of side effects is reduced to minimum, as most ingredients are used in cooking or are eaten as such. Also, because they can be made by the patient itself, the risk of allergies is completely removed, as people usually know what they are allergic to.
Last criterion of evaluation is the
price. Whereas the price in the case of the chemical bleaching products varies
according to the substances used, the producer or the brand selling it, the
natural products have a rather small and fixed price, as all the ingredients
are currently used in the kitchen.
Apart from these, the natural products
are freshly prepared by the patient and can be used immediately after
preparation for a more intense ingredients’ action. They are simple to make and
apply and can be used for a longer period of time.
Try some of the natural skin whitening
recipes from here. You will see how the skin will become whiter and the brown
spots will vanish in just a matter of weeks, without too much effort or any
side effects. Beauty is now cheaper for those who want to get rid of
hyperpigmentation!

Skin Care and Aloe Vera - The Naked Truth
Healthy
skin is a concern for many people, especially in a modern world full of
chemically concocted pollutants and irritants that encourage outbreaks as well
as damage skin. A multi-billion dollar industry has sprung up to provide people
with a plethora of skin balms, lotions and even prescription pills to help
combat skin problems and the population readily forks over their hard earned
cash in order to find at least some sort of relief for their skin
dilemmas.
While many large pharmaceutical companies choose
fight fire with fire by cooking up something the lab, others have jumped onto
to the “natural” bandwagon releasing lines of hypoallergenic soaps, creams and
lotions derived from natural sources. One of the hottest natural additives
today that is now being added into everything from hand sanitizer to laundry
soap is, ironically, something that has been already been used for centuries.
This substance is the Aloe Vera plant.
Many
Americans keep an Aloe Vera plant in their home to aid in soothing burns and
healing cuts, using the succulent as a natural first aid salve. The Aloe Vera
plant has a long history of being a kitchen ornamental that people prefer to
keep around whether they actually use it or not simply because their parents
and grandparents did also.
What many people do not know is that Aloe
Vera’s healing properties have potential way beyond just being a substitute for
a band-aid and a mother’s kiss (although it is hard to top a “boo boo” kiss).
Besides cuts, scrapes and burns, this miracle plant can also help control acne,
psoriasis, frostbite and blisters as well as help maintain healthy beautiful
skin.
Aloe Vera
has strong anti-bacterial, anti-fungal as well as anti-viral
properties. Being a succulent with watery innards that could easily
harbor bacteria if exposed the Aloe Vera contains large amounts long chain
sugars that help fight off
microbial invasion. These Polysaccharides are essential in helping heal damaged
cells, and something that people stop developing on their own after
adolescence. Besides these long chain sugars, Aloe Vera also contains a large
amount of phytosterols, which are plant lipids that help improve skin
elasticity eliminating the effects of scarring and wrinkles.
The gel
of Aloe Vera plant also has amazing moisturizing properties and also possesses
the ability to oxygenate the skin tissue helping it heal faster. On
top of all this, this little miracle plant also contains 200 other active
biological agents including glycerol, vitamin E and zinc. Imagine,
you can get all this for a couple of bucks at a plant and garden center.
While big name corporations are catching on to the healing properties of
aloe and are incorporating it into everything from disposable shaving blades to
mouthwash, it is still in the pharmaceutical companies best interest to keep
the population in the dark about the many healing secrets that this desert lily
has.
If people found out that treating your face with Aloe gel might actually
do a better job in treating your acne than a prescription drug that essentially
burns your face does, how the heck would they make any money?

Are Natural Skin Care Products the Answer to All Problems?
When it comes to skin care products, you will find that a lot of people are very particular about using only natural skin care products. They treat all the synthetic products as harmful to the skin.
So, are natural skin care products the answer to all of our problems? What if a natural skin care product is not available for the treatment of a particular skin disorder? Are the synthetic skin care products so harmful that they should be banned?
Different people have different answers to these questions. However, the reality is that due to presence of synthetic preservatives, it’s really tough to find a natural skin care product that is 100% natural. There are natural skin care products that have natural preservatives, but their cost might be detrimental. Moreover, such natural skin products have a shorter shelf life and hence are not preferred by the manufacturers of natural skin care products.
Some people carry a wrong notion that since natural skin care products are natural, they cannot cause any harm to the skin. The suitability of a skin care product is not based on whether it is synthetic or natural. An unsuitable natural skin care product can harm you in almost the same way as a synthetic one. So, use natural skin care products, but be open to synthetic ones too (you might need them when a natural solution is not available)
Your selection of a natural skin care product should be based on 3 factors:
* The skin type (dry, oily, normal, sensitive) of the person who will use that natural skin care product
* The climatic conditions in which it will be used e.g. hot and humid condition would warranty the use of oil-free natural skin care products.
* The process for application/use of the natural skin care product. A good natural skin care product (in fact any product) can seem useless if not used in the proper way.
You can also make natural skin care products by yourself, by using the recipes that are readily available on the internet and in the books at book stores.
Use of organic fruits and vegetables is also popular as a natural skin care procedure. Some essential oils, herbal oils, are useful too and are known for their moisturising and antiseptic properties
However, using a natural skin care product does not mean that you can exercise carelessness with other aspects of skin care. Natural skin care products should be used like supplements to the following ‘essential’ recommendations: healthy eating habits (avoiding oily food), regular exercise, drinking a lot of water (8 glasses everyday), and cleanliness. This will then form a perfect and completely natural skin care routine that will help maintain a healthy beautiful skin for longer time.
